JOHANNESBURG - Opposition parties have called on President Jacob Zuma to release the Arms Deal Commission report as soon as possible.

Zuma received the report on Wednesday in Durban after a four year-long investigation.

The inquiry investigated allegations of fraud and corruption which marred the arms deal.

The Congress of the People (Cope)’s Dennis Bloem says they're hoping to get clarity on the saga.

“We only hope that the public will have full access to that report and not half of the report.”

The Democratic Alliance’s David Maynier says although they believe the report will not reveal the whole truth about what really happened but it should still be released to the public.

“The final report from all that we’ve seen will be a whitewash. Those who are alleged to be involved in arms deal corruption including President Jacob Zuma*1, will unfortunately have nothing to fear from the final report from the Arms Procurement Commission.”
