Pietermaritzburg - Former deputy president Jacob Zuma intends filing papers on Tuesday at the Pietermaritzburg High Court in response to the State's replying affidavits in which they seek a postponement of Zuma's corruption trial.

The papers were meant to be filed on Monday at the Pietermaritzburg High Court.

Zuma's attorney Micheal Hulley said that they will file the papers early this morning.

The attorney for Zuma's co-accused Thint represented by Pierre Moynot said that he will only be in a position to speak to the Witness on Wednesday.

The affidavits are in response to 500 pages filed by the State last week.

Zuma and his co-accused have called for a permanent stay of prosecution or alternatively for the matter to be struck off the role. They have also opposed the State's application for an adjournment until next year.

Zuma faces corruption charges related to the multi-billion rand arms deal which relates to the billion rand contracts concluded in the late 1990's by the South African government to purchase aircraft and vessels for the SA air force and navy.
