Marc Lottering On Broadway

Marc Lottering's new show has a strict no-under-16 age restriction.

And the need for it is evident from the lovely new material he presents on stage. Apart from the usual expletives (you wonder if you're actually in a theatre or on a Cape Town taxi rank), Lottering goes on a galactic trip of irreverence and outright rudeness.

Then there are the Shaik brothers, and Lottering has a vicious (yet hysterically funny) stab at the family. It's done cleverly, the gags coming fast and sharp and he never lets up.

We could all take a leaf out of his book in seeing the world a bit differently; perhaps we'd all find the humour in everything.

Not quite sure if I could take a couple of hours of Marc Lottering for a few minutes of The Brothers.

But perhaps some can find the humour in everything.
