It's been a tough week for the ANC. The party's disciplinary committee passed rulings on two prominent members found guilty of misconduct and bringing the party into disrepute.

Former chief whip Tony Yengeni and national chairperson and Defence Minister Mosiuoa Lekota.

Party bosses found that Yengeni failed to declare to Parliament a 47% discount on a luxury vehicle relating to the arms deal.

He also made misrepresentations to Parliament and the public on the issue.

His party membership was suspended for 5 years but it could be cut to 3 years if he behaves.

The disciplinary committee found that Lekota also contravened Parliament's code of conduct.

He failed to declare financial interests.

Lekota was seriously reprimanded and fined a R5 000.
